On the 15th of June 2013, SMK Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom (SHAKS) held their very first District Level Carnival on Malaysian Art and Culture themed "Know Your People, Know Your Country". This carnival was held as part of the British Council Connecting Classrooms (BCCC) project. The aim of this project was to increase students' awareness on the diverse tradition and culture found in Malaysia which makes it a unique country.
The teachers and the students of SHAKS were very cooperative in making this event a great success. Students presented their booths to external judges, Mr. Sivanandan Sundralingam from IKIP and Pn. Sharipah Zaherah Syed Hamid from Jemaah Nazir dan Jaminan Kualiti Negeri Pahang. The judges were extremely impressed with the work of the students and promised to come again if invited. The event was officited by Pn. Faudziah Abd Rahman from the District Education Office.
I would like to take this opportunity to compliment and thank the administrators for supporting this event and the teachers and students of SHAKS for cooperating in making this event a great success.
